The Chambre de commerce du Montréal and the Quartier de l’innovation en santé de Montréal are partnering to create an event powered by Innove-Action CHUM to explore ‘Innovation: Joining forces to rethink the healthcare system’

The Canadian healthcare system is facing serious challenges. Overcrowded emergency wards, long waiting lists and backlogs for procedures, millions of Canadians without a doctor and shortages in most categories of the critical human resources that deliver healthcare services to patients. The Canadian healthcare system needs new thinking, new ideas and most importantly new solutions if it is to satisfy the healthcare needs of our population.

It is in this spirit that the Chambre de commerce du Montréal métropolitain (Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal) is partnering with the Quartier de l’innovation en santé de Montréal (Health Innovation District Montreal – HID)  to create this collaborative full day event powered by Innove-Action CHUM, to be held at the CHUM on March 13, 2023 for a day exploring the theme “Innovation: A source of societal and economic value. Joining forces to rethink the healthcare system”.

The life sciences and medical technology industry in Greater Montreal today is made up of more than 600 organizations, including 150 research centres and 80 subsidiaries of world-class foreign companies. They generate more than 40,000 jobs. Together, we can create even more value.

The role of this sector proved to be highly strategic in the management of the COVID-19 pandemic through the degree of mobilization, collaboration and agility generated to protect the population. If we were to draw a lesson, it would be the urgent need to propel the integration of innovations developed by local industry within the healthcare and social services systems.

Learn more about these important issues at the Innovation: source of societal and economic value event in order to join forces for the greater benefit of patients and the Quebec population.

We look forward to the new concepts, ideas and solutions that emanate from gatherings and organizations such as those taking part in this event and agree that innovation, in all its forms with regards to healthcare, will play a critical role in helping to address our healthcare system challenges and add significant social and economic value.
