Centech is a world class innovation center, incubator and accelerator based in Montreal, Canada. Centech supports high-tech companies and projects with high growth potential, from conceptualization to commercialization. They do this by providing a number of programs and services to startups that include resources, support, and top level mentorship from active industry professionals to help them transform their innovative ideas into successful businesses.
In the past five years more than 100 companies have taken part in Centech’s Acceleration and Propulsion startup programs. These firms have raised over $600+ Million in investment capital and created more than 1,500 high quality jobs. The startups can also count on the mentorship of 70+ experts in residence. Centech’s exceptional work and achievements are being recognized on a global scale as Centech was recently named among the World’s Top 10 University Business Incubators in UBI Global’s rankings.
The Winter 2023 Centech Acceleration Cohort is a busy one with 37 startups participating in the 12 week bootcamp. The cohort comprises innovative startups in DeepTech, MedTech, and EdTech. There are nine medical technology companies taking part in the program.
The Medtech Cohort Regulatory Affairs Workshop took place on March 30th from 9AM to 12PM. Centech team leaders and experts including our own Marc Saab lectured the startups on high impact issues affecting their Regulatory Strategy as well as provided feedback on their projects and business models.

The runway is short and the cash burn is high for medical technology startups. Even great ideas, lots of funding and high technological skills are no guarantee of successfully navigating the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs process, not to mention clinical integration. Digital health startups must address many important issues simultaneously as they traverse the path towards certification and understand that regulatory compliance strategy begins at the ideation stage.
